Scholarship & Financial Aid Information
Scholarships are merit-based financial aid. They are monetary awards that do not need to be paid back. Scholarships are usually based on academic ability, athletic ability, special interests and skills, ethnic background, religious background, or field of study. There are a variety of sources of scholarship funds including universities/colleges, professional organizations, unions, parents’ employers, community, civic, and religious groups, local businesses and corporations, fraternal groups, and veterans’ posts. The universities/colleges to which you are applying may require you to fill out an application for scholarships that is separate from your application for admission.
We encourage that you start your application as soon as possible, for most of the scholarships, a letter of recommendation is required. You should be sure to give the recommending adult(s) as much time as possible to write their letter. If your student has any questions, encourage them to see their School Counselor.
