Students: What to expect from us
  • A confidential place to express your needs, feelings, and thoughts.
  • Confidentiality will NOT be maintained if you are a danger to yourself or others or if others are hurting you.
  • Respect for your need to be in class
  • Referrals to community mental health providers as needed
Parents:  What to expect from us
  • A confidential place to express your concerns, needs, feelings and thoughts.
  • We encourage students to include parents/guardians on their emotional health journey.   However, they have the legal right to see a social worker up to 8 times for 90 minutes each without parental/guardian consent.  405 ILCS 5/3-5A-105
  • Sessions with students are confidential unless they are a danger to themselves or others or if others are hurting them. 
  • Return communication from us within 24 hours of receipt of your email or voice mail.
  • Remember, we are all on the same team and are here to support you and your student!

You Matter is a group of students who are dedicated to creating awareness and advocating to end the stigma surrounding mental health.  Our goal is to promote a positive environment and community at NVHS.
